Uhh, ok. So it’s been a while since the last post and I can only apologize so many times before it starts to sound insincere. C’est la vie, alright?
Even though I’m up to my eyeballs in thesis work, I’ve had to give a lot of serious thought as to what the hell I’m going to do when I’m officially graduated from AU. Sure, the first obvious activities on the To-Do list are: 1) Have some wine, and by some I mean lots of it 2) Get my social life back 3) Finish that water color painting of Lumpy Space Princess that I started a while back. It’s clearly all about priorities at the International Extraordinaire household!
But as you can see, the most obvious task is missing from this list: Get a job so I can start paying back my student loans…BUMMER! 😦 There’s a reason I’ve avoided thinking about jobs after graduation. It’s because I know that jobs aren’t exactly being handed out like candy on Halloween.
I’ve realized that ignoring my future isn’t going to make it go away. What needs to be done is PREPARATION.
Luckily for us international full degree students, InterResource is always coming up with info events just for us! I mean, it’s honestly kind of stupid that more students don’t take advantage of their services, because a lot of their events feature fellow internationals who know from personal experience what it’s like to find a job in Denmark. Their next upcoming event is something you really don’t want to miss if you’re like me and have to start thinking about finding a job. It’s called Work Destination Denmark and it takes place next Wednesday (November 21st) from 16:30 to 19:00 at Fuglesangs Alle 4.
They’re gonna have some talks about Danish work culture and building a network in Denmark and all that jazz. Plus, they’re also running a panel discussion, so you can ask three people from Danish companies your questions directly and they’ll fill you in on what it’s really like to work for a Danish company. For those of you who like surprises (unlike me who once accidentally punched a boyfriend in the face for surprising me at the door with flowers), there’s also going to be a super-secret surprise session.
So again, here are the details:
